Retreat Center derbaum
Hotel description
The Tree Seminar and Retreat Centre invites you to immerse yourself in its special spaces. In the idyllic village of Inzersdorf in Upper Austria’s Kremstal, visionary Hubert Baumgartner has fulfilled a lifelong dream. His love of reclaimed wood and craftsmanship has transformed the empty family home into a place of encounter, relaxation and transformation.
Wherever you look, you will discover lovingly designed nooks and crannies and the incredible design possibilities that reclaimed wood offers. You could spend days wandering the grounds with Hubert, as every door, window and beam tells a story.
The sprawling grounds are home to a variety of buildings and accommodation ranging from simple to luxurious. From a single room in an old farmhouse, to tiny cottages by the stream with en-suite bathrooms and terraces, to spacious apartments. Simple rooms in the neighbouring Kogler guesthouse are also available.
The gardens are equally impressive. Small paths lead you through a garden paradise. Ancient fruit varieties, flowers and trees, benches, niches and swings invite you to linger and enjoy.
On hot days you can cool off in the swimming pond. In cooler weather you can relax in the spacious sauna at the end of the day.
Yoga at Retreat Center derbaum
The accommodation is aimed at both retreat organisers and individual travellers. If you are travelling with your family or friends, you are welcome to take part in the regular open yoga classes.
As a yoga retreat organiser, you have two seminar rooms at your disposal. The light-flooded dome in the centre of the complex next to the swimming pond impresses with its extraordinary architecture, acoustics and atmosphere. The scent of the wood and the associated atmosphere are ideal for intensive yoga classes and ceremonies.
The second seminar room, “Heuboden ’, with its wooden ceiling and floor and view of the greenery and terrace, has a calm, earthy atmosphere.
Both rooms have a music system and are equipped with mats, cushions and blocks.
A kitchen and a spacious dining area are directly connected to the seminar rooms.
If required, you can carry out therapies in the Healing Dome – a miniature version of the large dome, so to speak.
Yoga retreat organisers can optionally book half or full board for their meals. Vegan meals are prepared using the best regional and seasonal produce.
Two retreats usually take place at the same time at weekends. However, the size of the facility and the well thought-out architectural concept offer enough space so that the groups can still find the necessary intimacy.
Catering
If you are travelling as an individual, you have the option of a vegan breakfast. If you are travelling as a group, you can book dinner or lunch as mentioned above. Of course, you can also provide your own food.
