Normafa Hotel

Hotel description

A yoga hotel in the city? Yes, there is one. The Normafa Hotel in Budapest is a 15-minute drive from the city centre, set in the green hills of the Normafa region.

Kundalini Yoga retreats are held at Normafa Hotel from Wednesday to Sunday. Gong meditation, mantra chanting, breathing techniques and the wisdom of Kundalini Yoga under the guidance of an American Kundalini Yoga teacher allow you to immerse yourself in the world of yoga.

The hotel has been meticulously renovated. The holistic Vasati design philosophy was the guiding principle for the renovation. From the design of the rooms to the choice of materials, every detail has been carefully considered to create a calm and harmonious atmosphere for guests.

In addition to yoga, there is a spa area with a sauna, a large hot tub and an outdoor pool.

Yoga at Normafa Hotel

The yoga is led by Gian Randev (Ryan), a well-known American teacher who is dedicated to both practising and teaching Kundalini Yoga. Ryan is a devoted follower of Yogi Bhajan, who is known for introducing Kundalini Yoga from India to the Western world. He is also a direct disciple of Tej Khaur Khalsa. Gian brings a wealth of experience and authenticity to the practice, emphasising not only the physical aspects, but also how people can live a fulfilled life in today’s fast-paced world, even amidst the challenges of daily stress.

Ryan will present spirituality authentically yet in a way that is easily accessible to people in the modern age. Under his guidance, the practices will be conducted in clear and understandable (plain) English.

The retreats start every Wednesday and last until Sunday. A Kundalini Yoga session awaits you on the day of arrival. On the following days, the retreat includes yoga sessions, workshops with theory units, meditation, breathing techniques, mantra chanting and much more.

Catering

The culinary responsibility lies with Gergő Gullner. After a long period of discovering different cultures, he returned to Hungary and has been introducing his guests to the diversity of Hungarian cuisine ever since.

Building on the gastronomic traditions of the Pannonian Basin, he goes beyond stew and goulash. Specialities from Felvidék, Délvidék and Transylvania, the cuisine of Abbazia and Fiume are transformed into refined and exciting new creations.

In addition to the diversity of Hungarian cuisine, he also draws inspiration from seasonality to create delicious dishes and menus. There is also a focus on fruit and vegetables from the heart of the country, along with game and other local ingredients.
